【摘要】:Alcoholsandethersareaddedtogasolinetoproduceareformulatedloweremissionsgasoline.Alcoholsandethersmayalsobeaddedtogasolinetoincreasetheoctanenumber.Typeandconcentrationofvariousoxygenatesarespecifiedandregulatedtoensureacceptablecommercialgasolinequality.Driveability,vaporpressure,phaseseparation,andevaporativeemissionsaresomeoftheconcernsassociatedwithoxygenatedfuels.Thistestmethodisfaster,simpler,lessexpensiveandmoreportablethancurrentmethods.Thistestmethodmaybeapplicableforqualitycontrolintheproductionofgasoline.Thistestmethodisnotsuitablefortestingforcompliancewithfederalregulations.3Falsepositivereadingsforsomeofthesamplestestedintheroundrobinweresometimesobserved.Asonlyextremebasegasolinesweretestedintheroundrobin,nodefinitivestatementcanbemadeastotheexpectedfrequencyormagnitudeoffalsepositivesexpectedinawiderrangeofbasegasolines.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofmethanol,ethanol,tert-butanol,methyltert-butylether(MTBE),ethyltert-butylether(ETBE),tert-amylmethylether(TAME),anddiisopropylether(DIPE)ingasolinebyinfraredspectroscopy.Thetestmethodissuitablefordeterminingmethanolfrom0.1to6mass%,ethanolfrom0.1to11mass%,tert-butanolfrom0.1to14mass%,andDIPE,MTBE,ETBEandTAMEfrom0.1to20mass%.1.2SIunitsofmeasurementarepreferredandusedthroughoutthisstandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
