【摘要】:Silicon(Si),ametalloid,isthesecondmostabundantelementintheearthx2019;scrust.Variousformsofsilica(silicondioxideSiO2)arefoundinquartz,sandandrocks.Thedegradationoftheserocksresultsinsilicafoundinnaturalwaters.Silicainnaturalwaterscanbefoundasionicsilica,silicates,colloidalorsuspendedparticles.Elevatedtemperaturesandpressurecancausesilicainwatertovaporizeandformdepositsorscale.Scaledepositsofsilicawillcoatboilersandturbinebladesusedinpowerplants.Thepresenceofsilicascaleaffectstheabilityofmetalstotransferheat.Silicaneedstoberemovedwhendeionizedwaterisusedasarinseformanufacturingwafersinthesemiconductorindustry.Silicaiscommonlyremovedbydemineralizationusinganionexchangeresins,distillation,reverseosmosisorprecipitationinalimesofteningprocess.Theon-linemeasurementofsilicaisthepreferredmethodtolaboratoryanalysesforindustriestryingtoobtainandmonitorultra-purewater.Sincesilicaisoneofthefirstspeciestobreakthroughanionexchangeresins,on-linesilicamonitoringisfrequentlyusedtodeterminetheneedforregenerationofananionormixedresinbed.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheon-linedeterminationofsolublesilicainwaterbycolorimetricanalysisusingthemolybdenumbluemethod,alsoknownastheheteropolybluemethod.1.2Thistestmethodisapplicableforsilicadeterminationinwaterwithsilicaconcentrationswithin0.5-5000ppb(g/L).1.3ThistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofsolublesilicaSiO2(silicondioxide)orsilicatesinwater.Solublesilicacompoundsareconsideredmolybdatereactivesilica.Thistestmethoddoesnotcoverthedeterminationofcolloidalorpolymericsilica,whichisconsiderednon-molybdatereactivesilica.1.4Thistestmethoddoesnotcoverthelaboratoryorgrabsamplemeasurementofsilicainwater.RefertoTestMethodD859.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
